Wilmington, Del., July 8, 2023 — Doppelganger won the $150,000 Battery Park Stakes at Delaware Park today.

With Jevian Toledo aboard, the 4-year-old son of Into Mischief won by 2 ¼-lengths and returned $3.80 as the second choice in the field of three. Forewarned, with Dexter Haddock, ran second a nose in front of the 3-to-5 favorite Ridin With Biden, with Paco Lopez, in third.

Doppelganger covered the mile and a sixteenth over a fast main track in 1:44.36.  The Kentucky-bred trained by Brittany Russell raised his career record to five wins from 12 starts with earnings of $539,900.

“He is a nice horse,” said winning rider Jevian Toledo.  “You can do anything with him.  He is very versatile.  You take him to the back, put him in front or put him in close.  Whatever you want to do with him, you can do with him.  There was not a lot speed, so I just put in the position to win the race today.”
