Wilmington, Del., October 9, 2024 — Charles Blanford and Teresa Haupt’s Beautiful Blome posted an upset victory in the $125,000 White Clay Creek Stakes at Delaware Park today.

With Paco Lopez aboard, the Delaware Certified 2-year-old daughter of Blofeld, won by 8 1/4-lengths and returned $24.00. The Maryland-bred conditioned by Anthony Pecoraro covered the mile in 1:41.49 over a fast-main track. The 1-to-5 favorite in the field of nine Caprice, with Jaime Rodriguez, finished second. It was another 3/4-lengths farther back to the pacesetter Not Too Late, with Francisco Martinez.

“I always thought this horse could go long, always,” said winning trainer Anthony Pecoraro. “She is not a horse who has a lot of speed, but she has always been able to make a big strong run in the stretch. So now let’s see where she goes from here. We are pretty excited”

Beautiful Blome raised her career record to two wins from five starts with earnings of $129,115.
