Wilmington, Del., September 12, 2026 — Delaware Park Casino and the Delaware Thoroughbred Horsemen’s Association (DTHA) teamed up to donate $20,000 to Mid-Atlantic Horse Rescue (MAHR) and Canter Delaware.
A check presentation was held after the tenth race as part of the special ten race Owners Day card today.
“The aftercare team we have at Delaware Park has done phenomenal work,” said DTHA Executive Director Bessie Gruwell. “They approach each situation with dedication and detail to make sure our outstanding equine athletes are appropriately placed to ensure they have a comfortable and purposeful career after racing is over. The aftercare team are the boots on the ground in the stable area and without them, many of these accomplishments would not be possible.”
