Wilmington, Del., October 17, 2026 — Goodfella’s Maida rallied to take the $200,000 Endine Stakes at Delaware Park today.
With Sheldon Russell aboard, the 4-year-old daughter of Improbable scored by 2-lengths over Mystic Lake, with Paco Lopez. It was another length farther back to Icona Mama, with Andrew Wolfsont, in third. Maida returned $3.80 as the favorite in the field of ten. The Kentucky-bred trained by Brittany Russell covered the six furlongs in 1:11.76 over a sloppy main track.
Previously, Maida was unplaced in the seven-furlong Grade I Ballerina at Saratoga on August 29. Trainer Brittany Russell felt like she never missed a beat after the loss.
“She got right back too it,” said winning trainer Brittany Russell. “We gave her plenty time to get back right. I had confidence in her with how she was training. I think Sheldon (Russell) learned something as well because he can sit on her. She is fast, but when things do not go right, he just sat on her today and she sat off horses and it worked out fine”
Maida raised her career record to six wins from nine starts with earnings of $459,400.
