Wilmington, Del., July 23, 2026 — Irish Three Racing’s Irish Maxima cruised to victory in the $145,500 Dashing Beauty Stakes at Delaware Park today.
With Frankie Pennington astride, the 5-year-old daughter of Maximus Mischief won by a length and returned $2.60 as the favorite in the field of four. My Magic Wand, with Edwin Gonzalez, finished second a neck in front of Onyx Ten, with Emanuel Rosario. Irish Maxima stalked fractions of :23.03 for the quarter mile and :45.93 before completing the six furlongs in 1:11.87 over a fast main track.
The Kentucky-bred trained by John Servis raised her career mark to 12 wins from 19 starts with earnings of $816,318.
The most anxious moment for her connections was in the paddock while being saddled.
“I was worried about her because she can be a handful,” said winning trainer John Servis. “She is always kicking and today she was just a little too sharp and that is on me. It had been two months in between races, so I just wanted to make sure she was ready to roll and she was ready to roll. Frankie (Pennington) told me that when he took her away from the pony, she settled right down and was as relaxed as could be. Down the backside, it is unusual for her not to be in front. I saw when he grabbed her, she looked like she tried to jump into the bit a little bit, but she settled right down, stalked and got the job done.”
